International B2B Communication

B2B Document Localization for International Markets

A correct translation is often not enough in international B2B. Documents need to match the language of the target market, industry terminology, buyer expectations and the way the material will actually be used in sales.

Localization of B2B documents for international markets
Not a word-for-word transfer: documents are adapted so buyers in the target market can understand, evaluate and reuse them internally.

Which documents we localize

The focus is on professional B2B material that buyers, partners, sales teams or other business audiences need to understand and use.

Document type
Typical localization
Corporate & sales presentations
Message, terminology, market context, examples and order of arguments
Product & solution documents
Industry terms, value proposition, units, specifications and application context
Proposal & project documents
Commercial wording, scope, responsibilities and a structure that can be reviewed internally
Case studies & references
Relevance for the target market, clear project description and credible evidence
Trade-fair & delegation material
Short, meeting-friendly copy and consistent terminology for documents and personal conversations
PDFs & downloads
Language adaptation plus checks of structure, links, number formats and local clarity

Translation and localization are not the same

Translation transfers content into another language. Localization also checks whether terminology, examples, units, date and number formats, value arguments, market references and document structure work in the target market.

For complex B2B products, a linguistically correct translation can still miss the buyer if it repeats internal terminology that the market does not use or if the evidence does not match the local buying process.

What we check during localization

Industry terminologyTerms need to match the sector and the language buyers actually use.
Buyer languageEngineering, procurement and management often require different explanations and proof.
Numbers & formatsUnits, currencies, date and decimal formats are adapted consistently.
Market contextExamples, references and claims are retained only when they are relevant and supportable.

Our process

01
Review the source document
Identify purpose, audience, terminology, recurring claims and critical passages.
02
Define terminology
Set consistent product names and key technical terms for the target market.
03
Localize
Adapt copy, argumentation, formats and market context without inventing technical claims.
04
Quality & usage check
Check consistency, readability, links, numbers and the real sales situation in which the document will be used.

Example: machinery documents for Brazil

From a German product sheet to a Brazilian sales document

A machinery manufacturer wants to use existing material with Brazilian industrial buyers. Rather than translating only the text, we review technical terminology, units, application examples, service statements and the order in which information is presented. Claims that make sense only in the German context are explained or replaced.

The document remains technically the same product material, but it is prepared for real use in the target market.

Keep terminology consistent across documents

For larger file sets, we can create a simple terminology and naming logic. Product names, technical terms and recurring statements can then stay consistent across presentations, PDFs, website copy and delegation material.

Scope boundaries

We do not invent technical performance data, regulatory approvals or local references. Legally binding, sworn or certified translations and highly specialized technical validation may require qualified specialists. The client remains responsible for final technical approval of product and company information.
